First established in 1918, it was called the Phuket Section of the State Railway of Thailand, under the Department of Railways, Ministry of Commerce and Communications.
It was changed to "Phuket Highway District" in 1943.
And in 2015, it was changed to "Phuket Highway District," under the Department of Highways, Ministry of Communications.
The original office was located together with the Phuket Provincial Hall. Later, in 1957, it moved
to Narisorn Road, Mueang District, Phuket Province, which is land owned by the State Railway of Thailand and additional land purchased from private individuals.
The total area is 20 rai 3 ngan 1 square wa. The total duration of operation is 104 years.
It has a total of 26 road lines and 30 controlled sections, with an actual length of 333.430 kilometers.
The length per 2 lanes is 597.789 kilometers. The workload is 2,087.335.
